Living with Intention in 2005

As the New Year approaches, it is a perfect time to reflect on your experiences from the past year in preparation for the coming year. Here is a wonderful exercise I use with my coaching clients to assist them in ‘completing the old’ and ‘creating the new’. I also complete the exercise for myself so that I can gracefully let go of the past year and set my intentions for the coming year. It is remarkable to me to review the completed exercise at the end of each year and see what I have successfully manifested in my life by setting intentions.

Completing the Old

Step One
Look at all the areas of your life, reflecting on 2004. You may want to use the Wheel of Life for this part.

  • List all of your Wins, Successes, and Breakthroughs
  • List all of your Losses, Disappointments and Breakdowns

Regardless of whether the item is a “win” or a “loss”, you are not as likely to take on the next opportunity in your life unless you are complete with past accomplishments and disappointments. When you complete, you create space for new things to show up in your life.

Here are some examples:

  • Win – In 2004, I presented at the International Coach Federation annual conference.
  • Win – In 2004, I self-published my first book.

Step Two
Choose 5-7 lessons you have learned this past year that you want to take into 2004. When thinking of what lessons to include, remember that you will want to consciously use these lessons in the coming year.
Here are two examples:

  • Lesson – In 2004, I learned that when I am truly inspired to achieve something ‘BIG’, and I ask for the help I need, there is nothing that stands in my way of accomplishing my goal.
  • Lesson – In 2004, I discovered that writing professionally is an important way for me to have a positive impact on the work of other coaches.

Creating the New

Looking at all areas of your life, imagine ahead to December 2005.

  • Write a list of your Wins, Successes and Breakthroughs for 2005. Be specific and write them as though they have already happened.
  • Create a Right Brain Vision for the coming year. This might take the form of a poem, story, collage, or drawing; anything that captures the essence and excitement of the intentions you set for the coming year.
  • Find a special place in your home or office to display the Right Brain Vision. The Vision will serve as a reminder of what you wish to manifest in your life.

COACHING MASTERY UPDATE

Coaching Mastery™ is an ongoing process of discovery and learning about who we are as coaches and as human beings. The learning comes from stepping back and examining our coaching relationships: the timeless moments, the more challenging ones, and everything in between. For each of us to become a masterful coach, we must remain open to the infinite learning opportunities we are given each time we answer the telephone or sit across from a client. Coaching Mastery™ one-on-one and group sessions provide coaches with a safe learning environment to further develop their coaching excellence.

Here’s what two participants had to say about their recent group experience:

"As a newer coach, the Coaching Mastery telegroup was an ideal complement to my coach training. With expert facilitation and personal experience, Lisa creates a safe and productive space for the group to discuss challenges, explore possibilities, and create solutions. In just 6 short weeks I was able to dramatically increase my confidence as a coach and implement practical suggestions to better attract and serve clients."

“I have long known Lisa Kramer to be a seasoned, caring, and effective coach. I have also known her to be an engaging and enjoyable teleclass leader. But now I know, perhaps, one of the more important reasons that Lisa is here on the Planet. Lisa is an incredibly sensitive and honoring "Master" of the Coaching Mastery process. She brings coaches together to explore the nature of the craft...she handles the coaching situations as the art forms that they are...and she responds quickly to the changing rhythms of the sessions. I highly recommend her Coaching Mastery to everyone who is ready to move deeper inside this artful and wonderful profession".

Business Success Partnership™

Building a successful coaching business is a daunting task for coaches who come to the profession as solopreneurs. Coaches face the formidable challenge of having to do it all: marketing, bookkeeping, business development, coaching. Working independently, they often experience a persistent sense of self-doubt and isolation which---at its worst--- can sabotage their ability to successfully create a thriving business. A Business Success Partnership™ (BSP) is a professional relationship created by two self-employed individuals for the sole purpose of ensuring that each individual’s business becomes wildly successful! It replaces overwhelm with synergy, and results in greater ease, momentum and enjoyment.

BSP kits are available for purchase for only $39. Each kit includes a spiral-bound booklet with all of the information you need to get started, a CD explaining the benefits and features of a BSP, and an electronic version of all of the materials in the booklet.
